BREAKING: LUXEMBOURG DECLARES WAR ON ISRAEL
Prime Minister Luc Frieden declared a state of war against Israel on Saturday, citing “systematic violations of international law” and what he called “the consistently poor quality of Israeli olives.”
In a brief televised address, Frieden said an emergency parliamentary vote had authorised the declaration with immediate effect. “Luxembourg can no longer tolerate aggression abroad or substandard produce at home,” he stated, referring to recent diplomatic rows and a series of failed trade inspections that found Israeli olive shipments repeatedly below European quality standards.
Israel dismissed the move as “absurd political theatre.” European partners expressed concern, while markets registered a modest dip in Luxembourg shares.
Further details are expected Monday.
