I've spent almost a month planning what I'm going to write, the plot twists, the characters, everything. I had it all perfectly planned out in my head, and then, right when I started writing, everything sounded so cringe. It was horrible.

For those who have experience with publishing, would you recommend **self-publishing**, trying to get an **agent and traditional publisher**, or directly contacting **publishing houses**?
I’d especially love to hear about your personal experiences: what surprised you, what you wish you had known beforehand, and what you would do differently if you were starting again.
