Myrna Loy’s Quick Chicken Pimento Soup…? But she just adds chicken to already made chicken soup?

Purchased this book and thought this recipe was hilarious, I had to read it 5x wondering…did she really just add chicken to already made chicken soup and add garnish? Who am I to argue with the “perfect wife”

Thelma Todd’s Sidewalk Cafe Recipes

Found this amazing book at the library called “L.A.’s Landmark Restaurants” and it has recipes from Thelma Todd Sidewalk Cafe!

It also has restaurants from other bygone era locations like Sardi’s Cafe, La Conga and Mocambo. Happy to share those in this group but wasn’t sure if they’re allowed since it’s not tied to an actual celebrity.

Sophia Loren’s Penne alla Puttanesca

I’m going to admit, I’m not the primary cook in the household but I was surprised at how easy this was and how delicious it came out. The kids even had seconds (anchovies and all). I might have left it on the heat a little too long so the sauce condensed a little too much, I kept it on the heat for 10 min when the recipe says 15. I thought it said sprig of parsley, not mince.

Deborah Kerr Coconut Scones

After making these, it dawned on me that Deborah Kerr was British so these are what the British call scones, which we Americans would call biscuits. Even then, these were super dense, I would call these a coconut cookie more than anything else. It took about 16 minutes, not 8, for the scones to brown.

I found this recipe on Hollywood Kitchen Show and she made adjustments after the first batch with baking soda and said it made it flakier.
