Rhinoplasty cast removal - pinched and upturned

Hi everyone - I’m struggling to find responses to my situation re rhinoplasty cast removal. Most people experience the avatar major swelling upturned look, however I am the opposite.

I am 14 days post op, and 2 days post cast removal for rhinoplasty and septoplasty.

My surgeon specialises in preservation and structural techniques and very natural results. I specifically asked for a subtle refinement - to refine my bulbous nose, correct asymmetry on the sides and fix my slightly deviated septum. I told him not to touch my side profile, which is naturally straight.

When the cast was removed, my nose looked so tiny, pinched, triangular and slightly upturned. I was in absolute shock. No sign of my natural nose - and it did not suit my face whatsoever. My nostrils looked more exposed too.

My surgeon is known for being blunt so I didn’t get a lot of reassurance.

Since cast removal, I can’t tell if my nose has softened or if I have gotten used to it. I feel like I’m losing sight of reality and maybe having an identity crisis.

The ‘upturned’ look is the only thing that appears to have softened a bit. Has anyone else:

- Experienced a harshly narrow, tiny, overly refined looking nose that then softened, got ’bigger’ and redraped as their nose settled?
- Experienced tip dropping within a few days to weeks, even with graft support in the tip?

Any words of reassurance will help me a lot as I struggle with anxiety. Thank you so much.
