Confused about the verb conjugation in this sentence
Der Musikstudent hat für das Instrument einen zweiten Platz reservieren müssen.
Why not "hat ... gemusst"?

Question about word order?
Hi all,
In a German class, we had an exercise where you have two options and you say which one you prefer. One set of responses went like this:
- Ich würde lieber eine Fremdsprache sprechen, denn das macht mehr Spaß. Was wuerdest du lieber machen?
- Ich wuerde lieber auch eine Fremdsprache sprechen, denn das macht mehr Spass.
I know it should be "auch lieber".... But why? What's the rule? Thanks for the help!
