Just want to flex

Finally got my splint off!!! Onto the boot, but can barely put my foot flat. It’s way too swollen still. No one told me getting stitches removed stings so badly but I guess I should have figured! Note: the x-ray of the plates and screws was early due to me thinking I might have broken something when I fell 2 days after surgery, so the splint is still on.

Who else broke their ankle on 5/3?

Random idea to reach out to this community and see who’s on a similar recovery timeline! I have a bimalleolar fracture in my left ankle, got ORIF and syndesmotic fixation with tightrope. Surgery was on 5/6. Looking for my broken crew :)

What do you all eat to promote healing?

I consider myself somewhat of an athlete and to have a broken ankle right now is really challenging since I don’t have the ability to do the things that make me feel at my peak. I broke my ankle crashing feet first into the boards during pickup hockey, and now trying to heal as fast as possible so I have a sliver of chance to get to this hockey camp in August (I had ORIF surgery 3 days ago). I l know rest and PT are essential for healing, but optimal nutrition support is also a factor. Wondering what other people have tried or are trying to nourish their bodies during recovery?? I’m eating alot of egg whites, nonfat Greek yogurt, sushi, protein shakes, veggie juices, vegetables, fruits, and salads.
