For anyone whose consular officer asks for proof of health insurance 🇺🇸

>I wanted to share something that worked for us. We were asked to provide proof that my husband would have health insurance available after immigrating to the U.S.
>
>Since he wasn’t in the U.S. yet, I couldn’t actually enroll him in a Marketplace plan. Instead, I submitted the 2026 Marketplace Eligibility Notice from HealthCare.gov.
>
>The notice showed that he had applied for Marketplace coverage and was eligible to enroll in a 2026 Marketplace plan, with the Marketplace still confirming his immigration information.
>
>So, if you’re in a similar situation, you may be able to apply through the Marketplace and provide the Eligibility Notice as supporting evidence that the immigrant can obtain Marketplace coverage after arriving.
>
>Important: This is not proof that you already have active insurance—it’s an eligibility notice showing that Marketplace coverage is available/that the applicant is eligible to enroll.
>
>Attached below is a sample proof that I provided with my and my husband's details in the document as proof to the consular which was acceptable.

VISA ISSUED FINALLY !!! (Pakistani national, interview in Budapest, Hungary)

Heyyy everyone! ❤️

I wanted to share some good news with everyone who is waiting to be reunited with their loved ones. Sometimes the wait can feel endless, but please remember that there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Don’t lose hope. 🤍

Alhamdulillah, my husband got his visa today after almost 3 years of waiting! 🥹❤️ We were actually very close to getting his visa earlier this year, but then the immigrant visa pause went into effect, which delayed the process and brought with it an incredibly painful and uncertain wait.

But Alhamdulillah, here we are today, finally sharing the news that his visa has been issued! For everyone still waiting, please don’t lose hope. Be patient, keep faith, and continue doing everything you can on your end. Your time will come, InshaAllah. 🤲🏻

After the pause was lifted, my husband was re-interviewed and was asked to provide some additional documents that had typically not been requested before the pause. These included things such as potential health insurance coverage in the U.S., a potential job offer letter, and/or other evidence of financial support or potential assets.

It became a little tedious because we had to gather everything within a very short timeframe. He had only about 10 days to redo his medical examination and obtain a new police certificate, which itself could take more than a week to process. Because of that, even after his interview, we had to wait another week while the remaining documents were completed and submitted.

It was definitely stressful, but today we finally received his passport back with the visa printed inside. 😭❤️

After almost two years, this wait is finally coming to an end. Alhamdulillah. 🥹🤲🏻

For everyone still waiting to be reunited with your husband, wife, fiancé(e), or loved one — please don’t give up hope. I know how difficult this process can be, especially when there are unexpected delays and uncertainty, but keep going. One day, InshaAllah, you’ll be the one sharing your good news too. ❤️

May Allah make everyone’s journey easy, reunite all families soon, and bring good news to everyone who is still waiting. Ameen. 🤲🏻❤️

Feel free to asks questions that may help you prepare or find ease.
