Not the real Mugenkan, but the Vanderbilt Museum in NY is close enough! TBH, PC-98 Yuuka cosplay in a grand mansion just feels right. Hope you enjoy the photos as well!

Recently went to Sandy Hook Beach in NJ to take some pics cosplaying as Kana! Since she's not brought up a lot these days, I figured I might as well post here to add some visibility:)
Kana might not be the most memorable character in TH03, but she's got a really playful personality and ofc one of the best themes in PC-98—Vanishing Dream ～ Lost Dream is an absolute masterpiece that's way too underrated. Also, her interractions with Reimu are definitely hilarious, given that not many characters can tease Reimu without having any comeback
ZUN mentioned in the game manual that he envisioned her with a road sign, so I figured it would be nice to get a real one. I ended up buying one from Amazon (yes, you can actually buy road signs there!) and am glad that it turned out great despite its weight
If you're reading this, it might be a sign to go listen to some Lost Dream arrangements today. Anyway, have a nice day and watch out for the poltergeist!

I went to Anime Expo this July (unfortunately not much Touhou content except for the fumo booth and the meetup), and visited the Griffith Observatory with my friend on day 3. If you've seen the movie La La Land, you might remember the iconic dancing scene set here, and I tried to replicate it with my Maribel fumo! ᗜˬᗜ
The observatory is a really cool place to explore exhibits about space, the universe and telescopes. It also has an awesome view of downtown LA and the Hollywood sign. If the Hifuu Club got a chance to visit the States, I'm pretty sure they'd like this place
Speaking of Hifuu, ZUN just announced a new album, so I figured it's a good chance to remind ppl to revisit some of the classic Hifuu albums, such as 大空魔術 ～ Magical Astronomy and 燕石博物志～ Dr.Latency's Freak Report. (both discuss astronomy and physics a lot). Anyway, hope you enjoyed your daily dose of Hifuu content
Taking red-eye flights from NJ to LA and back didn't feel so great, but the con itself was so much fun! It's hard to find Touhou-only events in the States, so I really appreciate the chance to enjoy a weekend full of Touhou, especially the live concert on Saturday night
I believe one of the best parts of going to a Touhou-only event is that you can cosplay as lesser-known characters and still get recognized, so I cosplayed as Marisa from TH03: Phantasmagoria of Dimensional Dreams. I really like her character design in PC-98 (especially the cute blush on her cheeks), but it's also nice to see her varying outfits in the later series
It was awesome to see so much PC-98 representation at Touhoufest--in other parts of the world it's not as popular as the Windows era but still got lots of love here. I'm planning on doing more PC-98 cosplays in the future as well!

Right after this year's Reitaisai, I went to Suwa City in Nagano (ZUN's hometown) and took a bunch of cosplay pics with other Touhou fans from China at the Tenaga Shrine/手長神社. It is one of Suwako's shrines—one of her spell cards is called 土着神「手長足長さま」 btw
In Japan, taking cosplay pics at shrines usually requires special permission and while it's not easy I'm happy I eventually got one! I hope those pics give you a glimpse of Sanae's daily life as the Moriya shrine's miko (at least in my imagination)
