City Of Gold makes my heart race in HD Mod, these near-invisible fucks are devious. And apparently they can even spawn in the starting room (it was in the alcove on the right btw)
The castle looks amazing, and this is where I first discovered that you can bring the crystal monkey through doors! This is not possible in either game as you can't carry monkeys through doors in HD, and the crystal skull isn't in Spelunky 2. Might see where else I can take this fellow
Other screenshots include tiki city, a silly Alien Lord that does not care about earthly physics (in HD they would drop), and a really evil arrow trap + idol combo that could potentially trigger automatically if there were snakes (Note: This wouldn't happen in HD because arrows didn't interact with idols and because arrows broke on contact with snakes)
A classic blocked off shop, a caveman holding a tiny frog, chunky rats and a cobweb on a spike, and piranha skeletons are back! 10/10
I just complained about an annoying BM spot on here yesterday and today the game gives me this. It was fine, but felt spiteful
Would not have expected it to hide in a single line of blocks at the highest point of the level, the inconsistent beeping was driving me crazy. Kind of a skill issue, but now I know
