Oct 21 is the 10 year anniversary of Bonito Generation. Do we think there's a chance of them doing a deluxe edition with new merch and physical copies like they did with Intro Bonito? It is a bit of a different situation since IB hadn't been reissued on Polyvinyl at all until it's 10-year. But hopefully they give BG the same treatment and maybe release some unreleased demos!

I love how mysterious PC Music was during its early years but now that we're sort of well into the post-PC Music era I feel like it's the perfect time for a documentary that really dives into the depths of how all of it came to be. Yeah there's the Arte Tracks interview and a few other cool clips and there. A. G. & Finn have particularly opened up to more interviews since the success of Brat. And there's a lot of lore if you really go digging. But every time I hear A. G., Finn, or any of the rest of the PC crew speak it's the most fascinating and intellectual commentary on music making that I've ever heard. Albums like 7G just feel so inspired too, I'd really love to see a video form deep dive of A. G. just going track by track explaining how each was made. Something more official than a fanmade YouTube video essay, you know? I feel like especially with all the legacy releases finally getting rereleased on streaming and physical formats, it would be amazing to see some kind of docu series on it all, direct from the source. Of course things like that (in the level of detail I'm looking for) take many many talented people and lots of time and money to make so it's a bit of a dream. Just wondering what others thoughts on something like this are.

Looking back on the early era of PC Music it's honestly really incredible how it all came together. A. G. Cook must really be an excellent visionary and leader to have been able to gather so many like-minded creators (both visually and musically). It's crazy listening to Finn or Danny's music from that era because it genuinely feels like they were on the same page as A. G. despite the hyper-specific 2010s pop/nu jack swing/experimental dance music combination he was doing at the time. Obviously PC Music as a whole continuously inspired each other and exchanged ideas freely, so that played a big part in it. But just the fact that all these creators were willing to take A. G.'s lead and go in such a unique artistic direction is incredible. What's even more amazing to me is that all these people were somehow doing this in London at the same time.

Even artists like SOPHIE or Kero Kero Bonito who weren't directly on PC Music but were very much doing similar things in the broader pop sphere blows my mind.

I don't know if any of you have had a similar experience, but it can be incredibly difficult to find creators who are on the exact same page as you. I studied music production in college in Tennessee a couple years ago and, while there were EDM clubs and things, everyone I encountered wanted to make either very mainstream brostep EDM, or other genres of electronic music that weren't very pop-centric. Even now having moved beyond that, most of the creators I've found who are interested in experimenting with sound design and pop structures are literally scattered all across the world. And even more importantly, finding people who want to continue to move the needle without making a carbon copy of PC Music is even harder.

I think what made PC Music so great is how they shamelessly created this hyper- exaggerated genre of pop music that combined experimental sound design with pop sensibilities so "pure" that others perceived it as satire. But under the hood it was a genuine authentic expression of what this group of people believed was the "purest" form of music.

Idk it just blows my mind that PC Music happened the way it did. Absolutely the right people in the right place at the right time, but also I really don't think it would have happened without someone as unique as A. G. leading the group.

I'm curious to hear what you all have to say about this. If you're a creator, what has your experience been like trying to genuinely experiment and move the needle in the post-PC Music & post-Hyperpop world?

P. S. I don't want to act like PC Music was an isolated incident of this kind of thing, there are SO many similar music movements that have happened worldwide over time. NLV records in Australia, Maltine records in Japan, and so many more. It's just fascinating how PC Music specifically happened in the UK at the time it did!

Native Instruments only specifies that the first one is made by A. G. Cook himself, but I figured I'd include the others just in case.

Ever since Finn released his electric and acoustic EPs I thought they'd make a great side A / B record, electric on one side and acoustic on the other. I'm surprised they didn't do it when they dropped, but I guess the easyFun legal battles were still going on then. Especially considering how no music from either of these EPs ended up on The Finn Keane Album, it would be great to have a separate release dedicated to them. It's really cool hearing Finn's stripped-back take on acoustic/guitar music considering how involved he's been with Soft Rock, Music, Fashion, Film, etc. I feel like these EPs kind of flopped unfortunately, but now seems like a good time to bring them back considering how many newer Charli fans are going to be searching for his music.

I just ordered my first pocket operator, a PO-33! I'm super excited to start using it. That being said, I've been relentlessly trying to determine what the best case for it is. A lot of threads I've found on this topic are older, and they all link to sites that are completely out of stock. I like the look and design of the official CA-X cases, but I don't like how they leave the back of the board exposed. I haven't gotten my hands on a PO yet, but it seems like they're weirdly exposed to the elements and prone to breaking? Just need some recommendations for the best cases that are currently available. Thanks!!
