2nd pregnancy timing - advice wanted
I'm 36. I had my first baby last fall. I have some other health conditions that I can't be treated for during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. My husband is almost 40. Given this, we were planning to try to have another baby when kiddo turns 1. The thinking is that we stack all of the sleep deprivation and time off of medication. That way I will only have one recovery period- after baby #2.
But I didn't take my hypermobility into account. Before pregnancy, it wasn't a problem- it was more of a quirk. But during pregnancy it got worse. And now my shoulder is painfully subluxing. I'm wondering if my joints can take another pregnancy in five months.
I'm considering hitting PT really hard up until I get pregnant (assuming I didn't need surgery). Is this crazy?
What would you do? Wait until your joints had recovered from pregnancy? Or just bite the bullet and follow the original plan?
I'm open to hearing about your experiences with pregnancy spacing as well!
