A dad win
I was hitting in a sim with my 70-ish pound 10 year old before his second to last day of school. He usually hits a drive 40-70 yards, but really wanted to hit one over 100. He had a half dozen sit in the upper 90's, but couldn't break through. He finally broke through and piped one 106 yards down the center of the fairway. When he picked up the ball it had shattered. Now, it was probably an old ball we've hit a million times that's brittle from sitting in the sun, or what have you, but still... I had the most excited 10 year old you've ever seen. "Dad - I hit it so hard I cracked it!"
Such a silly thing. Such an impossible sport. And just an absolutely unexpected dad win in the moment watching him be so excited.
