Vancouver AI Research Study Seeking Participants ($125/Session)
A local AI research project is still looking for participants for the remaining May sessions, and I figured some people here might be interested. I’m also aware that posting anything involving AI on Reddit is a brave life choice.
Full disclosure: I participated in the project myself back in April and am now helping with recruitment because they're still trying to fill the remaining sessions.
The study involves having a casual conversation with another person to help AI systems better understand how real people communicate. No acting, public speaking, or special skills required.
Details:
- $125 per session
- About 5 hours total (conversation time, orientation, and breaks)
- Eligible participants can do up to 2 sessions
- Central Vancouver locations
- Flexible scheduling
- You can sign up with a friend or be paired with another participant
- Age 19–70
- Fluent English required
A question people understandably ask is whether this is being used for deepfakes or voice cloning. The participant agreement specifically prohibits using the recordings for deepfakes or digital recreation, and the signup page goes into more detail about privacy, how the data is being used, and who is conducting the study.
