From Shakehand to JPen

I have played table tennis for about 9 months. Got a coach with whom I practice once a week and go to tournaments every Sunday. But my problem with relying heavily on backhand to win persists. Even though my forehand got better grip feels wrong and often hits fingers. So I'm thinking about changing to Jpen, beacuse it will force me to improve my footwork and use my forehand to do powerful topspins. My backhand is usually punchy,so maybe TPB shoto won't be that bad. What do you think about this change? Should I get 5ply wood blade or carbon(hinoki is too expensive)? Which videos you can recommend to learn more about jpen techniques?

Penhold hitters

Penhold players are pretty rare compared to shakehand. TPB players are even rarer, but one sided short pips player is like almost impossible to find nowadays. Not even talking about pro scene, cause if someone plays penhold it's RPB players. So my question is what do you think of this style?Does it suits beginner or intermediate player more? What famous players do you know with this style?

Volant Phoenix rubber for beginner

I want to change my FH rubber Tornado Reactor V5 because I want to try something more lively. I'm thinking on buying this rubber in 39 degrees. What is your thoughts on Volant Phoenix? Is it great for improving or just a waste of money?

Opinions on Volant Phoenix rubber

Reviews online varying from being great and durable to being hard to control and losing it's performance in 5 weeks. Wanted to ask what's your opinion on it, because I want to change my fh rubber (currently using Tornado Reactor V5) because my rubber feels a bit overused to 39 degree Volant Phoenix. I am beginner

Is Tenergy 05 good for beginners?

I always played with cheap rackets (current setup with Reactor V5 and Mercury 2),but now I can buy racket with both sides Butterfly Tenergy 05 for less than half price. But I don't know if it is controllable by beginner. I'm more of a blocker, but recently I started attacking a lot more. What do you think? Is it great for my improvement or just a waste of money? Edit: Thanks guys,I will instead buy cheaper more controllable rubbers and will consult with my coach about getting short pips for blocking. Appreciate every comment

What playing style to choose?

I am beginner, started playing 8 months ago,but only like 1,5 months with coach. I was just blocking or pushing with my backhand 80% of the time and when ball was going to the forehand I barely used forehand. After some coaching I can switch between backhand and forehand, but my forehand is so weak. I can't finish the stroke fully, cuz im scared that it will fly off the table,so I also usually just block.I can win sometimes, but it gives me barely any pleasure. So I was wondering what style should I try? I'm thinking about trying japanese or korean penhold just for the forehand, but my stronger stroke is backhand and my footwork is weak

What to do if you don't have someone to play with?

I am beginner, but I'm very passionate about tennis. I watch lots of videos and games, but can't play as often as I need to. Yes,I play with my friend who is my level or higher, but he doesn't care about tennis that much. Also I play with my teacher, who I can beat sometimes, but I need to be very focused.I am not from the city,so I can't have much acces to coaches or clubs. I can probably try going to the tournaments once a week or two,but what's the point of it if I'm gonna loose to people who practice with friends? What would you recommend?

I'm a beginner. I use the backhand in the absolute majority of cases, because it's more intuitive for me. And the problem is that I can hardly use the forehand. like I can do a forehand push and a long arc, but a loop, drive or just a flat shot feels impossible to me. I just can't switch my brains in time for a forehand. I have short spikes on my forehand. Can you give me any advice How to start using your forehand effectively?
