First year sparky debating suitability for the trade

Hey how’s it going, im 19m first year electrical appentice and debating weather the trade is for me or not. I love the job and want to finish my Apprentiship more than anything but lately Ive been making some pretty bad mistakes and weighing up my options.

I don’t think I’m a bad electrician, my boss has told me that I can do stuff that not many first years can do and I grasp the theory of it very well but make constant stupid annoying little mistakes that add up. Things like not counting somethkng correctly, losing tools, missing a turn when driving and I don’t know why, I never make these mistakes with anything else but at work.

The reason for the post and want to get some honest opinions is that Ive had 2 bad incidents . A few months ago some conduit fell off the roof as we were in a rush and I forgot to tie it down and luckily we weren’t going fast or in crowded traffic. And the second one was I missed connecting a power point under a sink and there was live exposed wire rhat luckily a plumber found and no one touched it.

Although simple mistakes, you just can’t afford to do them in this industry and not only have I become dangerous, i feel like im ruining my bosses reputation, business and becoming a completly untrustworthy employee. The problem is that I try at work, I have a good boss and tradesman and if these mistakes dont stop, I don’t see how it’s going to work out for me.

Thank you

Persistent redness on face

Hi everyone. I’m a 19-year-old male looking for opinions on persistent facial redness that developed after an acne outbreak. I’ve been dealing with this for around 7 months now and would really appreciate any insight because I have no clue what’s going on.

The reason I’m confused is that throughout my teenage years I never had any skin problems and never had any products, not even clenser or moisturiser. The turning point seemed to happen in late 2025 when I developed a lot of acne from a supplement I was taking which I then stopped and it seemed to mostly clear up but has left behind this persistent redness.

The redness is always worse on one side than the other and occasionally has small red bumps in it, but not all the time and they go away. Also it doesn’t have any feeling or pain, it’s just very red.

For additional context, I work full-time blue collar in Australia. My job regularly involves heat, sweat, dust, roof spaces, insulation and general construction environments. Aswell as the hot Aussie sun

The photos attached show what it currently looks like. Just looking for some advice and guidance if anyone has had a similar experience or knows how to deal with this, i would really appreciate it. Thank you
