Has anyone here ever seen a Japanese and American mix? Or do breeders try to keep these two separate? If so, anyone got a pic?
reddit.comWhy are Japanese Akitas so much more expensive and so much harder to come by?
I see American Akitas everywhere and at half the price for purchasing and even more affordable in adoption fees. I never see Japanese Akitas up for adoption at all, and when I see them available for purchase, it’s typically at 2-3x the price as an American. What gives? I’ve had an American Akita before and now I kinda want a Japanese one, but they are like impossible to find in a way that’s convenient.
Showed my gf Hachi: a dogs tale with Richard Gere for the first time and it brought her to tears.
reddit.comOut of curiosity, has anyone here ever named their Akita after the legendary Akita himself? (Yall know who I mean)
reddit.comI was at a farmers market and I saw someone walking their massive irish wolfhound. Like sitting down it was at the chest height of my GF, and on its hind legs it was pushing 7 feet I think……and that got me thinking….what would a mixed breed between an Irish wolfhound and an Akita look like? Like imagine the size of the wolfhound and the musculature and face of an Akita? Would it be like a super dog? Like I cannot help but imagine it.
