Is this an authentic plush?

Hello everyone! I am cleaning my grandma’s belongings after she passed. Can anyone tell me if this is an authentic pikachu plush? I tried researching but couldn’t find this specific plush. I believe she purchased it in Japan or Taiwan. I read that plush faces from the 90s may look a little wonky.

This is a jumbo chubby plush, looks like it’s supposed to be 1:1
