I saw a pair of pants in-store that looked exactly like these, except the PINK logo on the back was bedazzled with silver rhinestones. They didn’t have my size, so I figured I’d just order them online later, but I can’t find them anywhere!
Has anyone else seen these or know if they’re an in-store exclusive?
I noticed with my ex, who came from a very traditional and religious South Asian family, that he often seemed to do things because he felt obligated to, not because he personally wanted to. He would say things like, “I really don’t want to go to this event, but I have to,” or “My parents want me to do this last minute, so I have to,” even if it didn’t seem especially important. He’d also say things like, “I can’t do that because my parents said no,” or “I have to do this because if I don’t, it’ll make me look bad.”
What always stood out to me was that as an adult, he had the ability to make his own choices, so I would tell him that he didn’t have to do things he didn’t want to do. But he would usually brush that off and go along with it anyway. I always found that dynamic a little hard to understand. I know he was the oldest son in a very traditional, religious family, so I’m sure that played a role, but I’ve always been curious about why it seemed like obligation carried so much weight for him.
I’m going to be visiting during Fourth of July weekend and would love to know about some spots where I can catch a fireworks show or participate in Fourth of July events in general to get into the holiday spirit. I’d really appreciate any recommendations!
