To all of you in Iran
How are you guys? How’s everyone around you? Are you still with us?
How are you guys? How’s everyone around you? Are you still with us?
Really dude? After all the shit the regime has put us through you call us morons for voicing our disapproval of their team?
And the whole ”players aren’t the regime and they can’t speak out” point. Yes it’s true that they can’t speak out. But they also don’t have to speak in favour of the regime.
Like how the captain Ehsan Hajsafi did https://x.com/ehsaneghbale/status/2065540838567071759?s=46&t=65LN_XJPdCc9i6nWVTrgrA
Or how Shoja Khalilzadeh did https://x.com/ehsaneghbale/status/2065795483881091170?s=46&t=65LN_XJPdCc9i6nWVTrgrA
Or how Mehdi Torabi has done all his life https://www.straitstimes.com/sport/football/iran-say-winger-torabis-u-s-visa-expired-after-one-world-cup-game
In fact, every player that has spoken out against the regime like Azmoun was left out of the squad.
So you really want to tell us that we’re morons for protesting this handpicked mullah supporting team?
Regardless of how we feel about the team, don’t you think that them advancing would be a good thing?
My logic is that since this could be the first time that the team advances to the knockouts, there’s for sure going to be celebrations in the streets. Celebrations = large gatherings and large gatherings = potential protests. What do you all think?
All these ”it’s so over, Iran’s a lost cause, I’ve lost all hope 🥵” goofy ass comments from users that I’ve never seen before (and some from our residual doomers). First of all, I’m sure that we’re all frustrated about this ”negotiating process” but do we really need the same doomer comments from the same users on every thread?
Secondly, do you really think that this deal that hasn’t even been signed or agreed upon yet is going to be the one thing that makes Iranians go ”welp that’s that then, better lose all hope”? I’ve been on this sub since it’s inception and I can tell that when WLF was nearing it’s end in 2023 I saw the exact same ”this was our only chance, it’s all over now” types of comments. And then again when the 12 day war was over. So no, no matter what happens, it’s not over until Iran is free.
Are we done for now?
One side of my family is waiting for the second round of strikes to start while the other side is happy that the war is ”over” and they would like to keep it that way. How are things on your end?
With the world cup less than a month away, would the U.S. really resume strikes now?
I remember when we all had our eyes on them following the ceasefire, but they haven’t been doing anything as of late.
