How do you guys handle customer artwork that needs a lot of cleanup?
I’m curious how different shops handle this.
When a customer sends in artwork that isn’t really production ready low-res logos, bad vectors, missing elements, AI-generated, wrong sizing, etc. what do you normally do?
Do you handle the cleanup/rebuild in-house, charge the customer extra for the artwork, send it back to the customer, or outsource it to someone?
I’m asking because I’ve been doing some production artwork/prepress work myself and I’ve noticed that some customer files can take way more time to fix than you’d expect.
I’m interested in hearing how other commercial print shops deal with it, especially when the design team is already busy.
What works best for your shop?
