Sexual crimes are also rising in Japan. See why. Leave your thoughts.

Japan's National Police Agency has been recording an increase in various categories of sexual crimes.
In 2023, Japan reformed its Penal Code regarding sexual offenses, replacing the old definition of rape, expanding protections for victims among other measures.

Japanese researcher Makiko Asahina interviewed sex offenders incarcerated in Japan.
The main factors identified were:
* a history of childhood sexual abuse;
* problematic sexual preferences;
* proximity between the offender and the victim;
* cognitive distortions.
The study did not find income to be a central characteristic of the offenders.

Why are crime rising in Japan?

An important point is that the overwhelming majority of crimes continue to be committed by Japanese citizens.
In recent years, Japanese police have been drawing attention to groups known as *tokuryū*, composed primarily of Japanese nationals recruited online to carry out robberies, scams, and home invasions. These groups do not operate like the traditional Yakuza; they are decentralized and recruit individuals via social media and messaging apps.

Solution- all people over 70 should have electric cars, so they could use the automatic pilot. That’s the way to stop the elderly car accidents.

What do you guys think about that?
