I fear its going to cost more to have a body shop fix this than it would be sourcing another new one.
Ive called every junk yard around florida with no luck so if anyone on here knows of a good junk yard or parts house etc please let me know.
I cant replace my headlight until i get a new fender. So I’m kinda stuck right now.
Installed a new bosch alternator that didnt come with a pulley.
Used the old on off the MB alternator, i guess i did not achieve the full 80lbs of torque on that nut or maybe the pulley was worn from age.
But it lost the belt and spun the pulley.
Made it home without overheating, was around 110c but not near the 120c mark.
Spend the money on an alternator that already has the pulley installed, without a vice and proper tools you cannot get that pulley tight enough.
225k 1999 E55, was going to do valve gaskets, found out i need valve covers 🙃 as i found JB weld repairs on them, not leaking but i believe in doing things properly, so the gaskets can wait until i get new (used) covers.
However, upon removing my coil packs i noticed my #5 spark plug on the passenger side was corroded but the other on the same cylinder was not?
If coolant was being burnt in that cylinder that would induce galvanic corrosion which affect both spark plugs on that cylinder correct?
All other spark plugs look great, other than the oil on them from the valve gasket leaking.
If anyone has any valve covers laying around for the m113 please pm me.
Excuse me calling the helm mount a post, i don’t know what the Edson Wheel mount is called.
However, as the title says, i have to do a throttle cable, its on a Edson wheel mount, do i just remove the globe compass and everything will be under there?
