“That’s not X, that’s Y” and other clear AI tells in Scott’s scripts

“That’s not X, that’s Y” and other clear AI tells in Scott’s scripts

I’ve raised this before but would like to raise it again as the problem seems to be getting worse - it seems like every 30 second of Scott’s dialogue across his podcasts there is a clear and obvious tell that he’s reading off AI generated scripts.

Just in the first few minutes of today’s Prof G Markets episode there are the following lines:

“which isn't a forecast. It's a monopoly fantasy wearing a spreadsheet.”

“That's not pricing to perfection. That's pricing to hallucination,”

Its unfortunate because this particular AI tell is one of the laziest and easiest to catchas a way that people never speak in real life.

EDIT: I’m not suggesting this isn’t a legitimate turn of phrase, but the frequency of its use in the podcasts, paired with the fact that it is an identifiable way of speaking that AI generates disproportionately suggests that the scripts are clearly/overly written by AI.

Does anyone find Scott is so clearly using AI to script his responses to questions? (On Pivot, Prof G, etc)

I find it blatantly, painfully obvious, and so low effort. In today’s episode of pivot I’ve counted at least half a dozen instances of the lazy ChatGPT tell: “that’s not just x, that’s y”, that are followed up with canned, pithy one sentence quips that just scream “generated by ChatGPT”.

I’m not opposed to using ChatGPT to draft scripts, but it has recently felt like I’m not even hearing the genuine thoughts of Scott as a host. What is the point of listening at this point?
