May 2027 Grad Looking for Full-Time Recruiting Advice (Consulting/Accounting)

Hi everyone,

I'm a May 2027 graduate at a large public university (similar to Penn State), majoring in Finance with minors in Accounting and Real Estate. By graduation I'll have over 150 credit hours, so I'm also open to CPA-eligible accounting roles.

I have an internship this summer, but it's at a smaller firm and I've realized it's probably not where I want to build my career long term. I've spent most of the summer networking and have spoken with 20+ professionals across the Big 4 and other consulting firms trying to learn more about the industry and recruiting process.

I've been keeping track of full-time openings, and so far I've seen roles from firms like:

  • Third Bridge
  • FTI Consulting
  • Kearney
  • L'Oréal
  • AlphaSights
  • Swiss Re
  • JPMorgan Chase
  • BlackRock
  • Oliver Wyman
  • L.E.K. Consulting
  • Capital One
  • Davidson Kempner
  • Deloitte ***
  • RSM

I originally thought I wanted to go into investment banking or private equity for the first 2 years, but after learning more about those careers, I've realized I'm much more interested in consulting or accounting/advisory work. Right now I'm targeting firms like the Big 4, strategy/management consulting firms, and consulting groups within accounting firms.

My biggest concern is that applications seem to open and close incredibly fast. I don't want to miss opportunities, but I also don't want to rush applications just to get them in. I'm upset I didn't realize what I wanted sooner to get that internship pipeline but here I am.

A few questions:

  • Are there any firms or rotational programs I should be watching that I may have missed?
  • What job boards or websites are you using to catch openings early?
  • Is there anything else I should be doing during senior year besides networking and applying?
  • For those who recruited successfully, what made the biggest difference?

My goal is simply to have a full-time offer before I graduate, hopefully in the fall so I can enjoy my senior year. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
