Financially, it also pays off over time since printing study materials costs a fortune nowadays, and here everything stays in one place. But the absolute killer feature is searching through handwritten text. When you need to find a single formula before an exam among hundreds of pages, the tablet does it in a second.
Downsides? Screen time definitely strains your eyes a bit more than paper, so getting a matte paper-feel screen protector was a lifesaver.
