So let me start of by saying that this is not my first time in the city. Im on my third visit. The first one was in 2023, the second in 2025 and the third one is of course, now.
I have noticed, or at least i am thinking i do, that the amount of annoying people, scammers and beggers on sukhumvit and its soi’s has gotten way worse.
I was having a beer, people watching at hooters oppeside nana today. A number of annoying people here in this area is to be expected but today it was just a continues stream of elderly people begging for money and people trying to sell me watches. It got so bad eventually i nearly wanted to slap a guy who approached me 3 times in 10 minutes.
But not just that. I cant walk on sukhumvit for more then a mile or i get approached with some random thing about my appearance and how the supermarket has something for this.
Granted, i stand out as a west european, but still, leave me the heck alone.
Is it just me or has the situation got worse in bangkok?
