On this day in Texas History, December 18th, 1860: Cynthia Ann Parker is “rescued” during the Battle of Pease River, during which nearly 40 Comanches, including 16 unarmed women and 2 children, are killed by the Texas Rangers. Parker never adjusted to life after her return to her birth family.
