What's your favorite picture from a show you've been to?

I've seen the boys twice (Supposed to a third time, and shingles sidelined me, get the shot, shingles suck ass.) I always try to take a few pictures. Here's one my favorites.

Jackson marsh yesterday morning

I had to be out on the road for work yesterday. This was from my drive through the Jackson marsh. Later, I had to drive through the Horicon marsh, and my dumbass forgot to take a picture. It was eerie.

Andrew's ultimate sleep solution

Listening to Andrew and his sleep kidnapping, it reminded me of Temple Grandin's squeeze machine.

Other family members with schizophrenia

I've been open about my brother's struggles. While discussing him with an uncle, I learned that both my aunt, and my grandma both dealt with similar problems with psychosis. I learned that my grandma was on Haldol for much of the 1970's, and her behavior was a large part of why my grandpa retired when he did (Plus, IBM at that time period had a bad ass retirement package for their engineers, allowing grandpa to retire at 55.)

Anyone find similar in their family history?

Best nearly prophetic books?

I just picked up a copy of "Brave New World," by Aldous Huxley, which I bought because I saw some very timely quotes. It's on lists for scifi prophetic books.

On my prophetic scifi list, which are books I will be reading next:

  1. 1984
  2. Fahrenheit 451 (Read it back in the 90's in high school)
  3. Neuromancer
  4. Do androids dream of electric sheep (I have read it before, but I fear nuclear war is inevitable, and the way AI and advanced robotics are going, we might see replicants sooner than later)

I know it's a short list, but I have other business, accounting, history, philosophy, psychology, economics, fantasy, scifi political, and a singular smut, books that are already purchased and I want/need to read them as well.

What would you suggest after this?

Prescription and recreational drug mixing

Hey there, I'm curious how many of our loved ones are mixing prescription drugs with recreational drugs?

For example, my brother is a schizophrenic, has been since early childhood, but he can relatively hold on when he's sober. He's prescribed Adderall, and likes to recreationally uses THC. Within a few days, on regular mixing, his psychosis comes back, often with a vengeance, and he ends up in legal troubles.

I've noticed a similar pattern in several posts, where the family member in psychosis is prescribed a medicine, and and they decide to partake in a recreational drug, often THC. I'm just curious how many others are noticing this.

PS: I'm not picking on THC. I've used it numerous times, and developed some really nasty, near psychosis like thoughts, if had been taking my ADHD prescription, Vyvanse.
