New to the breed.
Hey all!
This is Peeps. I adopted her from a local shelter earlier this month and would absolutely die for her. She's 4-6 months old, very smart and loving, and I'm excited to watch her grow up.
I'm pretty sure she's some kind of coonhound mix, possibly a TWC or foxhound. Very leggy, has the choppy barks and baying howls, already extremely muscular. Obsessed with smells. Her littermates at the shelter all had strong resemblances to TWCs I've seen, as well.
Although I've raised working dogs all my life, I've never had a scenthound before and would love any training advice for her. What kind of enrichment would be good for her? What behaviors or illnesses should I look out for? How can I work with her when she hyperfixates on following smells?
