Got a rejection email

i got a “we will be considering other candidates“ email from a job posting i applied on July 31. The application status stayed at “applied” during the duration of 2 weeks and then the website was upgraded. Is this a true rejection or should I reapply?

Wait to apply?

I saw a job posting recently that I’m interested in applying. Is it best to wait until the new career platform is launched?

Start Date Next Year too much?

I have a gut feeling that there will be lay offs in my current employer in the upcoming months. I have 5 weeks left of paid parental leave to take and I plan on taking them 1 week per month until December. I’m prepping my resume, applying, and interviewing. If I do get an offer, can I ask for a start date of Jan 2027? Would that be too much? Is the start date flexible when you get an offer?

Who gets the job?

Someone who has all the qualifications, experience, and skill to nail the job, but the interview was not that great due to nerves and does not have any referrals

OR

Someone who doesn’t have the experience and skills for the job but interview went great and has a referral from someone working inside

As someone who suffers from social anxiety, what is the reality of this? How do you overcome the anxiety when interviewing to land a job you know you are qualified for

What role do I apply for?

I am a senior financial analyst at Boeing and I’m really interested in working for LM. I’m struggling to find a role that matches what I do now at Boeing which I really enjoy because it’s not the typical FP&A role. I work with inventory analysis and data integrity. Identifying discrepancies and do a lot process improvement. I was also involved in SAP transition. Sorry if its vague i don’t want to disclose too much but its a ballpark of what I do. Any roles that I can apply for that would use my skills? What should I be looking for? Is LM good at helping you apply for a role that would better match your skills if let’s say you apply to the “wrong” role?

Job Title is Senior Financial Analyst, but I don’t want FP&A

Sorry if title is confusing lol i am on the job hunt for finance roles but i DO NOT want FP&A roles… I feel like all of the job descriptions are all the same…”budgeting”, “forecasting” etc..my job title is Senior Financial Analyst but i do not do any of that and i’m not interested in any of it. I like working with historical data, data analytics and integrity, reconciliation, problem solving, playing detective on the why. Currently i am doing that at my job, but my job stability is not where I want it to be as my company is conducting a lot of lay offs. What job title should i search for that match what I want to do? Any advice on how to portray that when looking for a job? Help! :)

Do I have a chance landing a job at LH coming from Boeing?

I started in 2016 with KLX Aerospace and after the acquisition by Boeing in 2019, I’ve been in Boeing for 7 years in the Finance department. I’m looking to use my experience and talents elsewhere as I’m looking for a new challenge. How likely am I to land a job at Lockheed Martin coming from an aerospace industry? In the last 10 years, I’ve had 5 roles and 2 promotions across finance and work my way up to a senior level
