Estimators: Sell me on your division.

If you’re a subcontractor estimator and genuinely enjoy the division you’re in, what division do you estimate, and what do you enjoy most about it?
If you’ve made the switch from one division to another, what led you to make the change? Do you have any regrets, or was it the right move? What recommendations would you give to someone who’s thinking about branching out into a different division?

When to call it done? Question for the sub Estimators.

At what point did you decide to call it quits in your estimating career?

Having to detail? Having to detail, estimate, and handle change orders? Handle some things PM’s won’t?

Trying to get a feel for doing all this while maintaining a measly salary.

As we all know; some subcontractors like to hire us to handle everything but PM’ing.

At this point, maybe I should switch careers into PM’ing.

Thoughts?
