The doctor was a dumbass

> Sees Noirtiers slave, Barrois, die.
> Correctly deduces that Noirtier was the intended target.
> Knows Valentine personally handed Barrois the drink.
> Blames Valentine as the poisoner with unshakable conviction.
> Never questions why the poisoner would accidentally/intentionally poison the wrong person.

Like... what, bro?

How can someone be so perceptive and so dumb at the same time? 😭 he should have atleat been a little more doubtful

I have to wake up in 4 hours

I accidentally ate chapter after chapter, from Caderousse’s death, then Fernand being brutally exposed by Haydee, to Albert threatening the Count, and finally, right this second, Mercedes calling the Count by his true name.

I am going absolutely ballistic on my bed, trying my hardest not to wake anyone up.

This is so freaking peak. I genuinely can’t take any more.

The amount of energy I have, I fear I might not be able to sleep 😂

Question:

Is there any other book like this that you can recommend me, and did anyone else have similar reaction? It’s so bloody satisfying

How do you describe the book to people?

I’m in a bind

I feel that most of what I wish to say is a spoiler, and anything I am permitted to describe, doesn’t do the book the justice it deserves. So I just say, “yeah, just read it, it’s good” 😂
