Woooo! My skilled workers visa was approved and now just waiting for the rest of my family. Question about packing for the move: our plan is to move with just clothes and main sentimental things but overall slowly getting furniture when we’re there. Has anyone else done this? When you flew with your stuff did you use all suitcases or some boxes? How many of those bags did you take? I’m going to start looking at flights asap since I have a start date in October
I have three sons ages 5, 5, and 4. We are moving to the UK in October and aren’t sure what to do about schools. My understanding is that it’s a totally different process than in the states. What has been your experience with moving once the school year has already started?

In April, I got a conditional offer for a job and I’m still waiting for my certificate of sponsorship. Has anyone else had it take this long? It’s been a lot of back and forth paperwork and video calls. I feel like we’re in limbo
What is your take home pay after taxes and everything for band 5 nurses (all ranges)? I’m just trying to make sure I’m planning appropriately. I know talking about pay can sometimes be frowned upon so I appreciate anyone willing to discuss it
