5 days post MD L5/S1, when did it improve?

I had my surgery on Monday for L5/S1. Since the surgery the only pain I’ve really had is the actual incision/back feeling tight when I move but my right leg (problem leg) has felt amazing.

I woke up this morning and my right leg is feeling very stiff. I tried to do a straight leg raise but I can’t raise it much off the floor at all.

How long did it take you guys before you felt better? When did you start exercises? I’ve only done very minor exercises since.

I’ve read that pain related to the leg usually goes straight away post surgery so I’m getting a tad concerned. Any insight into your recovery would be helpful.

Thank you all

3 month old Staffordshire bull terrier is lunging and biting

She’s perfect outside, very polite, loves attention, is good with dogs and so forth but at home sometimes something clicks and she will just constantly lunge at us and bite us. It’s not cute bites, she will have our whole hand, arm, leg etc in her mouth biting and drawing blood. Sometimes she lunges to nip at us to the extent we’re covered in scratches and scabs from blood.

How do we correct this? We’ve read online to leave her, hide your arms, give her a toy etc but none of this works. We’ll give her a toy, she’ll play with it for 2 minutes, drop the toy and then lunge at us to start biting.

When we’re in the garden she sometimes starts biting her feet. When there’s no toys around we can’t stop her from biting us, she will run laps until we get inside.

The only method of getting her to stop is physically stopping her. Of course we don’t want to, however when she starts lunging she causes some very deep cuts sometimes and we can’t let her constantly bite us, especially as sometimes we don’t have toys around etc so if we don’t stop her she will continue to bite us till she eats us alive or something.

How do we correct this? We try to follow the 2hr in crate/nap and 1 hour awake as much as possible. She’s really good in her crate, she will happily go in if we say crate and give her a toy to nibble on. When we’re outside we tell her to sit, wait etc and she will happily do that but when we’re inside a lot of the times she’s a demon.

My partner is pregnant so if she doesn’t stop soon we’re going to have to rehome potentially which we don’t want to do as she’s an incredible dog a lot of the times and we love her very much.

Any help would be appreciated. Please no suggestions of ‘hide your hands’ or ‘give her a toy’ as if we hide our hands she goes for our feet and so forth.

Thank you!
