Very upset
I live in Wichita, Kansas, and applied for food stamps on May 19th. I was approved a few days later and told my benefits would be loaded onto a card on May 23rd, with regular reloads happening on the 4th of every month. After waiting two weeks with no card, I called and was told it had been sent back. They promised to resend it, but after waiting again, I had to call back only to find out it was returned a second** **time.
Fast forward to July 1st after more than a month of waiting I finally received the card. However, when I checked the balance, there was only $115 on it. Since the June 4th distribution date had already passed, the balance should have been much higher.
Now it is July 6th, meaning another distribution date has passed, and I still haven't received my next round of benefits. I have been calling non-stop, but no one answers or fixes the issue. To make matters worse, I found out their system shows I am currently employed at a McDonald's job that I actually left years ago. Because of this error, they are drastically lowering my benefits and demanding employment verification for a job I don't even have. My card is active, but I’m getting nothing, and I am completely confused and frustrated by this entire situation.
