Fly Ranch Open House, Nature Walk, & Soak. Open to Gerlach, Empire, and Pyramid Lake Locals, Friends, Neighbors, & r/BurningMan. Friday June 12, 5 PM - 8 PM. Hosted by Burning Man Founders Will & Crimson, Ranch Ops Manager Waffle, & Fly Director. Free honey & produce from the farm, garden, & hives.
We are going to host a Fly open house, nature walk, & soak. Y'all are invited, r/BurningMan folks. We'd love to host you and your friends and family.
We’ve invited our neighbors at Fly and friends in town and in the area. We did this twice last year and posted about it on r/BurningMan here and here.
We’ve talked about wanting to regularly (once or twice a year?) have an open house like this where people can just show up, walk around, and soak. We did those two open houses last year, but didn’t do soaks, which would be the new experiment here. We think it’s good for neighborly relations and friendships, fun to host people in general, and also good to address the perception Fly is closed or unavailable.
I get that perception. We as a three person team do as much as we can to make it available for folks to participate and enjoy the space. If this doesn't work, there are a few hundred other days a year when you can come be a Fly Guardian, join a Saturday nature walk, join a Sunday Labyrinth walk with Will & Crimson, join a campout, or join a Sunday community soak.
