Gaggia Classic (restored and upgraded)

DF54 Grinder

Just changed my my setup. Previously using a Sage dose control grinder and a Breville Barista Mini. I've adjusted the OPV valve to 9 bar measured with a gauge which I attached to the original portafilter). Purchased a Gaggia bottomless portafilter and fitted a Rancilio steam wand. New shower screen and silicone group head seal. The gaggia had very poor flow when I got it so I stripped the group head and soaked it in HG descale, decaled the machine and bought a back flush basket. Don't think it had been done in a long time, the previous owner never had one. Always wanted an original Classic. Now the learning curve.

Biscuits anyone...

The addition of a bottomless portafilter with a single wall basket to my barista mini has been a game changer for me. Tasting coffee like never before. The spent grounds are also coming out in the perfect biscuit (finally)
