I Bought the Siser Romeo …( update )
So shortly after my last post i went ahead and splurged on the Siser Romeo after SOME research and I will say It was a damn good investment. I did a simple print a cut job on some hang tags for my own brand just to get familiar with the process and it turned out very good.
Now I’m not here to gas it because there are some instances where i was taken aback a bit but i want to add my two cents to the conversation:
- Print and cut is so much easier . My process is a bit tedious because I export a pdf to photoshop for better printing options but the process was really easy the registration was
no
- problem at all and i love the camera feature to help you line up your blade to the mark.
- I was obviously spoiled because the Romeo doesn’t auto set your blade in position like the Cameo . But it’s actually better for control so I get it but it’s an extra step. And so is setting your blade depth. I am also not a huge fan of the lever mechanism of clamping down your mat … it’s very manual but i understand why i just didn’t expect to that extent. That’s just me being lazy lol
- Leonardo is actually , to me, way easier than silhouette studio. Idk… it’s straight to the point. But i don’t design in these softwares i only use to import and cut so i think it’s literally perfect for that. One thing i noticed is the layers panel used to make me want to scream on silhouette studio. Leonardo made it so simple It seemed .
- For loading materials , it’s often loaded from the back of the machine which i am getting used to .
- There’s almost zero instructions on how to use it frfr in The box. I took everyone’s advice I’ve been watching a lot of EllyMae. Very helpful with this machine for sure.
- I thought it was cool You can cut straight from a flash drive no computer needed. I won’t be using that but it’s cool.
Definitely, will be putting it to good use. Hopefully this can help someone . Thanks to everyone who responded on the original post as well. I will be cutting some oracle 751 next I’m assuming it will go well.
