Currently on S5 and no more Richard. I figured the show would answer my question, but I'm still a bit perplexed.

Richard's a horrible, controlling husband with very little redeeming qualities. He doesn't care for his son and I'm pretty sure he doesn't even think Rocket's his.

I get why the separation would mess with him at first. However even when he's well-adjusted into the Revenge Society he's still hopeful that Sally would take him back (I'm referring to the Gargantua-2 episode).

Sally's only there to deter him from doing something stupid because, in her words, Rocket deserves a father. Which is confusing for her to say at this point. Any viewers care to hold my hand here? Thanks 😊
