Hi all,

I’m British and hold a UK EOOW Unlimited. Currently working as a 3rd engineer on yachts and considering moving offshore.

Did my cadetship on cargo ships and feel like yachting can be quite limited on the practical engineering side, plus salaries seem to have stagnated.

Would you recommend switching to offshore (PSV/AHTS/DP)?

How hard is it to break in with no offshore experience? Is BOSIET enough?

What are the salaries like?

Would appreciate any advice from anyone who’s made the move
