Hello community!

I can't find reliable information.

  1. Mirrors. My van originally had extended mirrors (manual folds, powered, heated).

I hate them, too wide to be comfortable and not sure about any benefits, as the mirror partially closed by the window's frame

So, two questions.

- if someone has experience with both: does extended mirrors provide really better visibility than standard?

- are standard vs extended mirrors directly interchangeable? I assume yes but better be safe than sorry.

  1. Headlights. I have headlights without DRL. Surprisingly, headlights with DRL are cheaper. Are they interchangeable, or I can't properly install the DRL version instead of the non-DRL one?

Short (low-profile?) PFD?

Looking for a proper PFD, comfortable to wear with a splash skirt, practicing roll - high back, short front, preferably not for all the money in the world:)

Thinking about Onix MoveVent Dynamic / Curve, or Astral Air Escape V-Eight 4. But I can't find any info about the front panel's length.

I'm 176-178 cm, size for chest L/XXL.

Any recommendations?

Maybe you have these vests and can provide some measurements?...

Wilderness System Cape Horn 14: need repair advice, preferably from owners

Hello!

I bought Cape Horn 14 recently.

Cheap bargain - but with some issues / potential issues, and I need some advices from people who know this system.

  1. The rudder was completely ripped off, broken the stern rudder mount.

The body is in great shape, no long cracks, the hole was local and I already fixed it (proper plastic welding - looks solid and should not be a problem.

But now, I have the next step ahead: return the rudder. It is doable, and I have a solid plan. But I have doubts: should I do it at all?

I understand all the benefits of the rudder but if it is necessary on this kayak? It is not extremely long; maybe it could be even better without the rudder? :) What do you think?

  1. The dry compartments covers. They are just plastic covers without any sealing (rubber gaskets/liners). And I'm not sure if they should be there or not. I can easily add rubber or silicon gaskets but again, should it be there?

What else can you suggest to check, take care of, and improve?
