IMPORTANT ACTING LESSONS! I asked students about the most important aspects of acting. They mostly talk about using character thoughts. Subtext is just briefly mentioned but it’s a huge part of what your character thinks when speaking. Watch this then click on this post for a link to more on WORDS!

THIS SUB IS DIFFERENT!!! It’s not your typical forum where you ask questions to the public. It’s an actual ACTING CLASS with a teacher with decades of experience. There are free written & video lessons, & affordable Zoom classes. (Click on this post and read on!)

I love helping actors. But if you have no experience acting and have never studied the craft, you cannot just practice in your room in front of the mirror. THAT’S NOT ACTING. If you try posting on this sub asking for suggestions there is too much to tell you. You need to learn FIRST!

I created this sub to give anyone who dreams of being an actor, a better idea of what it’s all about. So please don’t post here asking for what to do to start an acting career. This whole sub has advice for you. Go to those posts and get to work!

The technique I teach is my own (a combination of all the well known schools I attended) and it is extremely effective. It’s practical and logical. Take the time to read the in depth lessons I have written for you!

The [WRITTEN LESSONS](https://www.reddit.com/r/Actingclass/s/02XmfE2PM3) are found in the first pinned post, “How to Start an Acting Career”. They can give you some new insights on the basics of acting and some eye opening new concepts. Read the Blue Links towards the bottom of the post , in order from top to bottom. After reading each one, add a summary comment or question beneath. I will respond. We can start a dialogue and I will give you feedback. Follow me and look at my comments to see what I’ve replied to others. See what they’ve written. You can learn so much just by reading the comments.

The free [VIDEO LESSONS](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxgSZSQpmhrVYAD9yrXY4N\_2qYo0cOfI6&si=jQCjJnEPfGzluGrB) should be watched from the bottom up. Leave comments and ask questions there too.

Live Zoom class sessions are ongoing. New sessions start every 5 weeks. The info for those are [HERE](https://www.reddit.com/r/Actingclass/comments/150ibt7/welcome_to_winnie_hillers_ractingclass_class_sign/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button). That’s where you will get to work with actors from all over the US and the world.

Here’s a [VIDEO](https://www.reddit.com/r/Actingclass/comments/1mr9yod/class_starts_sunday_so_if_you_are_wondering_what/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) of students talking about their experience with the sub and the classes.

I hope you will join me!

All the best,
Winnie Hiller
