Qlayaat - Rene Mouawad Airport (KYE) Update

The coastal highway road between Tripoli and Qlayaat is being paved in preparation for the airport’s opening.

Nawaf Salam has announced that construction is on track and the opening is officially on November 15, 2026.

Flight schedules will start being announced in the beginning of November once the airport is almost finished.

Only confirmed airlines so far is Mada to Istanbul and Masriyah to Giza. MEA is expected to launch routes from the airport to support the airport’s growth. Pegasus and Ajet have expressed interest in serving the airport, and will most likely launch routes once the airport is fully open. Talks are also underway to service Larnaca.

Construction Update at Rene Mouawad Airport (KYE)

Roof has been finished. Work will now start on the walls and the inside of the terminal. Expected Completion date is early October with flights starting around late October. Report of first flights on 10/10 are NOT confirmed by any airline and is unrealistic given that airlines do not set schedules for airports still under construction.

Mada Airways, the new Lebanese airline that will be based out of KYE, will start the first flights once the terminal is completed. They have just received their first plane out of two, which landed in Beirut Airport on Wednesday.

If anyone else enjoys listening to podcasts of people analyzing political issues and current events, this episode that I listened to today was really informative.

He touched on
-The future of the US-Israeli relationship
-Iran-US War and how it will affect the geopolitical balance of the region
-Islamist martyrdom ideology and how it relates to the “resistance” movements
-Analysis of the situations in Gaza and Lebanon
-The possibility of voluntary disarmament
-The rise of radical right-wing ideologies in Israel and how it pertains to the current government and settler violence
-Increasing anti-Israel sentiment in the West

If anyone decides to listen to it, I would love to hear other opinions on these issues and something you heard that you may not agree on.

So sad to see one of the last budget airlines go bankrupt, leaving passengers with less affordable flights and thousands of employees now jobless.

Hello, I’m Lebanese but I have been looking into domestic Israeli politics since Oct 7 and the resulting wars. What are the opinions of Israelis about the newly formed alliance and do you believe that they have chance of beating Netanyahu this year? I understand everyone on this sub may have different views which is great since I would love to see all sides of this. Any perspective is appreciated :).
