Frankfurt vs Zurich connection to Dublin
Hi, I’m flying from Athens to Dublin for a conference and I need to be in Dublin that day, so I’m trying to decide between two flights:
Lufthansa via Frankfurt
• 70-minute connection
• 60-minute minimum connection time
• Passport control
• There’s another Lufthansa flight to Dublin later that day if I miss the connection
SWISS via Zurich
• 55-minute connection
• 40-minute minimum connection time
• Passport control
• Zurich seems much easier and more efficient than Frankfurt, but there’s only one flight to Dublin that day
Both are on the same ticket, so I would be rebooked if I missed the connection because of a delay. I also have an EU passport.
Which would you choose? I’m mainly concerned about the actual likelihood of making the connection, rather than comfort. Would 55 minutes in Zurich be safer than 70 minutes in Frankfurt because Zurich is so much more efficient, or would you take Frankfurt because of the extra time and backup flight?
