Betrayal

Betrayal

I love them like a porch light
left burning in the cold,
and hate them like the locked door
I was never told to hold.

They are roots around my ankles,
they are shelter, they are chain—
the hand that taught me tenderness,
the hand that taught me pain.

Delusional

Consider this a formal introduction to my OC Violet. A former DnD character who took a life of her own, Violet is a necromancer and body grafter who suffers the delusion that she’s simply a little girl in a toy house. To her, everything and everyone is some kind of whimsical toy. Her “Dolls” are her undead monstrosities. Everyone to her is also a toy of some kind, save for her father, who is the only one she sees as real.

Now you have nothing to worry about, she isn’t interested much in living toys— unless she thinks you’re broken. If you think you need fixing, she’ll certainly try to help fix you. Edit: a word.

The Hatemachine

No real deep meaning, and no real hard truth here. Been really getting back into Aggrotech/Industrial lately, and I got called into work yesterday when I should have had it off! Eventually throughout the shift, the chorus of this song came to my brain, and I tend to cycle my thoughts heavily. It cycled and cycled and cycled until I finally thought "I need to just make this into a song..."

A song about the fueling of societies hate-- and how none of us are innocent of doing so. I do it. You do it. We all do it. All hail the Hatemachine.

1st: Winter Storm, self named OC for a web-comic my partners and I are working on!

2nd: Sharp, original character from almost 15 years ago, just recently given a face.

3rd: Ripping July, a Brutal Slam/EDM band I developed as a concept for Suno!

The Hungering

Addiction

Webster defines addiction as a physiological or psychological need for a substance, activity, or behavior. A self-destructive state, addiction can feel like a wedge driven into one’s mind and a curse placed upon one’s family. As a former alcoholic and smoker, I can tell you: it felt like I was eating myself alive. This song is exactly that—a man standing in front of a mirror, eating himself. It is a metaphor for the habit-forming power of addictive substances.
