What would eat skullcap?

Last night something ate my heartleaf skullcap completely. Not one part of it is left. It looks like it was never even there. What would do that? I looked it up and there didn’t seem to be anything that likes to eat it because it’s bitter. We live ok the country but don’t have deer, or squirrels. I’ve seen maybe three rabbits in two years. We have toads, snakes, and birds. Any ideas?

Propagation timing

I’d like to propagate some of my perennials from cuttings. After the root how would you manage them until they are large enough to plant? Would you just keep them in the shade until fall? Inside? I don’t want to plant new plants in the summer but not sure how having them in pots would be better…
Thanks for the help!

Bluebonnets sprouting already?

I have a bunch of baby bluebonnets coming up. Are those from last year’s seed? My current flowers are already popping their seed pods, but surely it’s not from those. Right?
Any thoughts on if the babies will make it through the summer? I don’t remember seeing them at this time before, but maybe they start now and just stay little until the fall?

First monarch caterpillar!

I’ve been cultivating milkweed for two years and this year we have about 20 plants. Two days ago I watched a monarch visit multiple plants and yesterday I found the first caterpillar! I haven’t seen tons of monarchs, but it’s good to know it’s working! I’m concerned about the aphid situation, but that’s a problem for another day. If you’re cultivating milkweed, did it take a few years for the monarchs to find you? I’m hoping more arrive each year.

I found this pink bluebonnet in my bluebonnet field. Has anyone ever seen one like this? I’m wondering if I collected some seeds if they would also be pink or revert back to the normal blue/purple.
