Advice for high schooler

Maybe this is a dumb question, and I'm not sure if I should ask here, but I'm interested in careers that hope to advance the future by eliminating the climate crisis.

I'm currently a high school sophomore, and I do robotics and Earth science competitions, but I don't really know what careers are good for me. I've tried a fieldwork internship, and fieldwork is definitely not for me. I am mostly interested in desk jobs, but I also want something stable with a decent wage.

This is probably a question that gets asked a lot. I'm sorry if I haven't found something someone else sent. I'm just really worried about how AI is and how alarming all the climate projections are. I also do activism and policies, but that's not for me.

Columbia SHP Rejection Letter - Need Advice + Earth Science Programs

please give me feedback for next year and also any possible other programs?

This past application cycle = 100% rejections for me from any program that sent rejection emails.

I'm into stem, specifically earth science, climate science. It's so niche and I have trouble finding things.

My essay - Optional: If you would like to provide any additional information about your High School science and mathematics background, you may do so in the space below. (maximum of 50 words)
I am currently studying AP-Level Biology and have been placed in the 10th-grade math, having scored well enough to bypass 9th-grade math, meaning that I scored far above my grade level in the areas of geometry, trigonometry, and conic sections.

Please describe your interests and background in science and mathematics. (maximum 250 words)

I swept water in my inundated backyard with a broom, my pants wet to the knees from sloshing in lower-calf-deep water. My parents don’t want me in climate careers, fearing impracticality.

I’ve been involved in [school's enviro club] since I joined [redacted]. I’m now [non president position]. [redacted - name of club] won $500 for our [Proposal at some thing - redacted] where Columbia professor [redacted] presentation demonstrated science to be more tangible than policy language.

I joined Science Bowl and Science Olympiad, knowing I wouldn’t start skilled. I was on SciBowl B Team and won #7 statewide in SciOly [event in grade]. Through lots of late nights, vinegar, and baking soda, my carbon capture with basalt weathering research grew from three cleaned yogurt jars around my house, 15 basalt rocks, and a $30 carbon dioxide monitor, to winning top 10% nationally in the Thermo Fisher Junior Innovators Challenge.

I co-captain Division B Science Olympiad and FIRST Tech Challenge robotics teams, which rank [redacted], respectively, despite mistakes. I write an educational newsletter to ~6,000 people, lead climate advocacy, and intern at [some small org]. I was admitted into the New York Academy of Sciences’ Junior Academy, where my team [non winning]

Cyclogenesis and bombogenesis seemed as foreign as other planets before I started reading textbooks. Despite my parents’ skepticism about “messes,” I’ll keep going, making better messes than wet pants and a (slightly less) waterswept yard.

Columbia SHP - Rejection Letters?

I haven't heard anything about SHP except that other people got in. I feel very sad and at unease.

Do they send out rejection emails? If I didn't hear back, am I rejected?

Thanks for your support :(

New to Mission Possible - How to Prepare?

I'm build managing Mission Possible for my school's team this upcoming year. The rules seem to change year to year, and I'm not sure how I should approach preparing over the summer and after rules come out, as to my knowledge, there are no kits for Mission Possible.

How do other people in Div C usually prepare for Mission Possible? How do you design, and on what timeline do you normally build on?

[Other] Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Diffuse Pollution

Especially on how U Mander and V Kuusemets made their nomograph.

"Non-point Pollution Control by Riparian Buffer Strips: Dimensioning and Efficiency Assessment., in: Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Diffuse Pollution. Edingurh (1998), pp. 136-143" --> the citation of the article i'm reading.

So far I've looked it up on Anna's Archive and on google. So far, the only possible way of obtaining it is buying the full from Amazon (kinda shady because there's no image?) for $160, which I can't afford. It's too old to be on webofconferences (from 1998)

I would like to know how they designed this nomograph, and read the original, if anyone has access or suggestions on how to access it. Thank you!

Lack of Sound

Context: new to ipad system, had a laptop but they keep getting unhinged so i thought id go for something without a hinge: ipad + keyboard. This was very recent and a GIANT sum of money. So far, not used to it at all. I do noteflight for music composition (only software that institution uses) and descript for editing podcasts (also only software institution uses)

Both Noteflight and Descript (web versions) don't have sound on ipad. I'm not sure why? I checked and made sure volume was up, restarted ipad, made sure tab was unmuted.

I have latest software for safari and ipadOS.

What should I do?
