There will based on the recent poll be no change to this subreddit

Many people wants too Buy/Sell/Treade stuff, a small majority of r/cookware users actually, but it would due to the enlightening comments from the poll, be too messy to implement here, and be too annoying to the near majority that on the contrary wants ABSOLUTELT NOTHING OF IT here.

I will be looking into how to create a whole new subreddit dedicated for buy/sell/trade, it will be a sister subreddit to r/cookware. And may be named something like r/cookware_marketplace but name suggestions are up for grabs, so be sure to make good suggestions in the comments.

I initially wanted more subreddit activity and possible by extension accelerated growth on r/cookware, rather than a r/cookware sister subreddit. But growth should not come at a high cost for roughly half of the inhabitants of this subreddit, so the buy/sell/trade adventure will eventually start as a sister_subreddit, in order to make sure that things on r/cookware continues the same just as most of you prefers it!

Do YOU want to influence r/cookware? Help the modteam decide on possible changes to r/cookware by voting in the poll below!

Reddit used to be an innocent platform for enthusiasts and/or "nerds" or generally just very knowledgeable and passionate individuals, but Reddit is increasingly getting commercialised and normalised.

The Reddit Administration (not the mod team) sometimes colaborates/chats with cookware companies behind our back and some of these companies increasingly wants to colaborate with the overall subreddit moderation like with the r/cookware mod team (us) as well.

We or at the very least I seek to run this place the old school way, buy following the rules of the subreddit myself and keeping it a place to talk about cookware and help each other out, old timers, newcomers and cookware enthusiasts alike.

However some r/cookware users would like a possibility too buy, sell or trade cookware with each other useing this subreddit community, others would like to get information about sales and promotions while other only want to look at interesting discussions about cookware.

Thing is, that in the past I talked about a monthly/quarterly buy/sell thread on things subreddit r/flashlights has one and, I think that would be cool if it got implemented at r/cookware.

But what about information about sales? Should we have a list of ongoing sales included in the upcoming Buy/Sell/Treade threads or just let companies maby once a year post thier biggest yearly sale themselves into the feed of r/cookware or have NO SALES at all? (new product announcements especially from startups excluded).

I personally belive this place is special and should not be tainted by outside influences more than absolutely necessary. I like that there is now customer service representatives from sone brands in our subreddit, when they genuinely help users and doesn't push sales too much. But personally I don't want this place to turn into yet another advertising board for large and aggressive corporations. However in this post financial crysis economy some people really could benifit from good sales, so what is your opinion on sales and cookware treading?

I have been thinking about this for some days, and would on behalf of r/cookware like you to help the mod team decide the best possible direction for r/cookware, especially in these recent times where Reddit at large is getting increasingly commercialised.

Electrolux are selling 5200W boost induction stoves again!

Me and a reddit friend years ago each bhought possibly the best (at the time at least) standard sized home kitchen induction stove ever made, it later became discontinued and dissapered completely from the market.

Many, many people have asked me for help finding a similar stove and for a few years there simply was nothing similar, that is until recently!

It is now seemingly only sold in Spain: https://www.electrolux.es/kitchen/cooking/hobs/induction-hob/eif61342/

but likely ships to other EU countries at least, similar stoves is also sold on the French market.

Electrolux is one of very few remaining European induction stove manuafactures, they own AEG and a few other brands, thier main competitor is undoubtedly Bosch BSH which also owns a lot of brands. Bosch seems to focus on quality across the board and realiability, while Electrolux seems to focus on exciting features and quality only on select models.

Bloomberg (Turkey) made Induction cooktop unable to handle Demeyere TripleIndux.

Not much to tell here, other that I tried a Demeyere Proline Frypan on a Bloomberg induction cooktook sold within the EU market, and the stove simply refused to heat the frypan more than 50 or so celsius.

At least the stove didn't break like some Samsung ones infamously does, but the quality of the stove definitely is something to consider when buying Demeyere with TripleIndux.

The pan works perfectly fine, and gets the TripleIndux indux efficiency and increased power draw benifits on my friends Electrolux stove and my own 3500w "portable" hotplate.

I will add Blomberg to the list of stoves to avoid, at least when useing TripleIndux, the stove otherwise seemed to have a quite decent quality.

It didn't have noticeable cooling fan noises as many cheap garbage stoves has, and the touch controls worked perfectly fine, and I was also able to make good steaks at high heat useing a pan without TripleIndux.

The bost power was however noticeably lower than the fixed 3500W setting on my portable induction hotplate (despite it having to deal with voltage sag from thin gauge 10A house wireing circuits vs proper thick gauge 16A wire circuits by law mandated in my country for home kitchen fixed stove circuits), so I did say that Blomberg is definitely not great but also not terrible.
