Kiptopeke State Park in Virginia
Sunday Funday!
My faithful companion and I drove over and under the 17+ miles of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel to Kiptopeke State Park in Cape Charles Virginia, at the very bottom of the Eastern Shore.
After a 3.6mile walk along the trails, we launched and paddled out to see the Concrete Fleet - a breakwater created by scuttling 9 WWII era Ferrocement cargo ships in shallow water. Very cool .Definitely worth the trip. It was a lovely day for it- water temps around 60°f, air in the 80s, barely any breeze off a weather shore, brilliant sunshine from bright blue skies.
It's the first time I broke down the C-Tug dolly and stowed in the foredeck hatch instead of bringing it back to the car, and it fit perfectly, though it didn't leave much room for anything else.
