Local Hang Out for People who have a loved with or lost a love one to terminal cancer

Hey /Rva, I’ve been posting about this on TikTok, and a commenter suggested I share here (mods I understand if you need to take this down).

I am trying to start a social club/group in the area for people that have a loved one(s) or lost a loved one(s) to terminal cancer. In 2020, I lost my aunt, and then in 2023 and 2024 I lost my dad and brother. All to different types of cancer.

I hope to use recreational activities as a way to help people reconnect with themselves and connect with others.

I have set the first hang out to be this Thursday (July 9) at 7pm at the gazebo at Deep Run Park. Thankfully it looks like things are cooling off next week!

It’s a book club adjacent, as we’ll talk about the book Dungeon Crawler Carl, but this is really just to give us some common, light hearted ground to connect on. If you haven’t read the book or don’t get a chance to, that’s okay! Still come out, I’d love to have you.

Happy to answer any questions you might have!
